The Marin San Quentin 1 in Fade Grey (Black/Grey Fade) is a "hardcore hardtail" designed for aggressive trail riding, jumps, and bike park sessions. The 29" wheel version is a newer addition to the lineup, offering better rollover and stability compared to the classic 27.5" model while keeping the bike's playful "dirt jump" DNA.

Why Choose the San Quentin 1?

  • Progressive Geometry: It features a very slack head angle and a long reach, which is usually only found on much more expensive bikes. This makes it incredibly stable on steep descents.
  • Upgrade Ready: While it comes with a solid entry-level spec, the frame features a tapered headtube and internal dropper post routing, making it a great platform to upgrade as your skills grow.
  • The 29er Advantage: On the San Quentin, the 29" wheels help carry momentum over roots and rocks better than the 27.5" version, making it a faster choice for traditional trail riding.

Important Note

The San Quentin 1 uses a 141mm Boost Open Dropout (Quick Release) at the rear rather than a 12x148mm Thru-Axle. This keeps the cost down but is something to keep in mind if you plan on upgrading the rear wheel in the future.
