Product Details
Brand:
Marin
The Marin San Quentin 1 in Fade Grey (Small/27.5") is a "hardcore hardtail" built for riders who want an aggressive trail bike that can handle jumps, technical descents, and bike park laps. While the 29" version is built for speed and rollover, the 27.5" Small (SM) model is designed for maximum agility and a playful feel.

Key Technical Specs
- Frame: Series 2 6061 Aluminum, Double Butted, with internal cable routing and a 141mm Open Dropout (Quick Release).
- Fork: SR Suntour XCM34 Boost, 130mm travel, coil spring with a 15x110mm thru-axle for added front-end stiffness.
- Drivetrain: MicroShift RD-M9195M 1x9-Speed with a clutch to keep the chain secure and silent on rough terrain.
- Brakes: Tektro M275 Hydraulic Disc, 180mm rotors front and rear (some older versions may have a 160mm rear).
- Tires: Vee Tire Co. Flow Snap, 27.5" x 2.6", providing massive grip and a large contact patch for stability.
- Handlebar: Marin Mini-Riser, 780mm width (can be cut down for smaller riders if needed).
Why Choose the 27.5" Small?
- Agility: The 27.5" wheels combined with the short 425mm chainstays make this bike incredibly easy to "flick" around corners and manual.
- Dirt Jump DNA: Inspired by dirt jump geometry, the low-slung frame gives you plenty of room to move your body over the bike, which is ideal for learning jumps or riding steep technical lines.
- Hydraulic Power: Unlike many entry-level hardtails, this comes standard with hydraulic brakes, which are essential for the aggressive riding this frame encourages.
- Upgrade Path: The frame is internally routed for a dropper post, which is the most common first upgrade for this model to unlock its full trail potential.
Quick Note on Color
The Fade Grey (Gloss Grey/Black) is a stealthy, professional-looking finish that contrasts with the more "loud" Teal or Tan options often available in this lineup.
