Product Details
Brand: Marin

The Marin San Quentin 1 in Fade Grey (Small/27.5") is a "hardcore hardtail" designed for riders seeking an aggressive trail bike capable of handling jumps, technical descents, and bike park laps. While the 29" version focuses on speed and rollover, the 27.5" Small (SM) model prioritizes maximum agility and a playful ride feel.

Sizing & Geometry (Small)

The Small (SM) frame is ideal for riders between 5'2" and 5'6" (157cm – 167cm).

Geometry Highlights:

  • Reach: 422 mm
  • Stack: 623 mm
  • Standover Height: 628 mm
  • Head Tube Angle: 64° (Slack for confidence on steeps)
  • Seat Tube Angle: 77° (Steep for efficient climbing)
  • Wheelbase: 1176 mm

Key Technical Specs

  • Frame: Series 2 6061 Aluminum, Double Butted, with internal cable routing and a 141mm Open Dropout (Quick Release).
  • Fork: SR Suntour XCM34 Boost, 130mm travel, coil spring with a 15x110mm thru-axle for added front-end stiffness.
  • Drivetrain: MicroShift RD-M9195M 1x9-Speed with a clutch to keep the chain secure and silent on rough terrain.
  • Brakes: Tektro M275 Hydraulic Disc, 180mm rotors front and rear (some older versions may feature a 160mm rear).
  • Tires: Vee Tire Co. Flow Snap, 27.5" x 2.6", offering massive grip and a large contact patch for stability.
  • Handlebar: Marin Mini-Riser, 780mm width (can be cut down for smaller riders if needed).

Why Choose the 27.5" Small?

  • Agility: The 27.5" wheels, combined with short 425mm chainstays, make this bike extremely easy to "flick" around corners and manual.
  • Dirt Jump DNA: Inspired by dirt jump geometry, the low-slung frame allows plenty of room to move your body over the bike—perfect for learning jumps or tackling steep technical lines.
  • Hydraulic Power: Unlike many entry-level hardtails, this model includes hydraulic brakes, essential for the aggressive riding style this frame encourages.
  • Upgrade Path: The frame is internally routed for a dropper post, making it easy to unlock its full trail potential with this common upgrade.

Quick Note on Color

The Fade Grey (Gloss Grey/Black) finish delivers a sleek, stealthy, and professional look, standing out against the more vibrant Teal or Tan options often found in this lineup.
