The Excess Mini/Expert Chromoly Freehub Body for the P3x1 R24 Hub is a heavy-duty, factory-original replacement cassette driver. It is designed to prioritize robust reliability and structural longevity, making it ideal for younger BMX racing categories where durability is key.

Key Specifications & Features

  • Material: Constructed from CNC-machined Chromoly steel, this freehub body offers extreme resistance to cog-bite and high torque generated during gate starts.
  • Engagement System: Features a traditional and reliable 3-pawl mechanism that engages with a 24-tooth internal ratchet ring inside the hub shell.
  • Cassette Standard: Compatible with Shimano-compatible cog interfaces, allowing seamless pairing with Excess XLS, Elevn, or traditional Shimano single-speed cogs.
  • Included Components: Comes as a complete assembly with:
    • High-grade pre-installed sealed internal bearings
    • 3 simple pawls
    • Matching pawl springs
  • Note: Drive spacers, cogs, and the outer lockring are sold separately.

Exact Fit Compatibility

This chromoly driver is specifically engineered for first-generation and budget-focused Excess hub lines.

  • Hub Models: Designed to fit Excess Mini/Expert P3x1 R24 rear hubs, available in 28-hole or 36-hole configurations.
  • Wheelsets: Serves as the direct stock replacement for rear wheels built with Excess XLC-1 (451 mm rim size) components.
  • Incompatibilities:
    • Does not fit Excess Pro hubs, which require a physically larger Pro-sized P3x1 R24 driver.
    • Does not fit high-engagement P3x5 R120 hub variants, which use a completely different internal multi-tooth pawl configuration.

With its focus on durability and precision, the Excess Mini/Expert Chromoly Freehub Body is a reliable choice for BMX riders seeking a robust and long-lasting replacement part.
